I am a wife and mom living in Riverlea, Johannesburg with my family. I was blessed with three beautiful children. Two boys and a girl. I work at Bophelo Day Care Centre as the Centre Coordinator . I love my work so much as it gives me a chance to help other mothers who have children living with Cerebral Palsy.
My second born child, Tatenda was born with Cerebral Palsy and having to walk this journey with him has made me want to help other CP mothers and children living with CP through sharing my experiences and keeping their kids safe and healthy. I love my job because it gives me a chance to do my part in this world to make sure special needs kids are well taken care of. Working with these children and parents has made me realize and appreciate the gift of life in its various packages. My job gives assurance to the children that they are equally important just as much as any other normal child out there. It gives awareness on how to properly take care of CP Kids to the parents and guardians and also that regardless of the child's condition they still need to be equally loved and taken care of just like other kids and not neglected.
I am a mother of one handsome boy, aged 3 years. I have been working with children with Cerebral Palsy for a long time- looking and taking care of them. I may not have a child with CP but the love i have for these kids is unconditional. I treat them as my own, I believe that they deserve to be loved and treated as normal.
I am a mother of three adult children (2 girls and 1 boy). I work at Bophelo Day Care Center. I love working with children who have Cerebral Palsy because I want to train and teach them as people tend to judge them by their physical appearance saying they can’t do anything yet and as a society we can remove that negative mindset.
I am a mother to two handsome boys aged 16 and 9. My first born was born with Cerebral Palsy, which took me years to understand and accept. When I finally accepted my child the way he is, that's when I told myself that I need to share the little that I know with other parents who had to go through the same journey as me.
I love working with kids with CP or any other disability because I believe that a person like me who has an experience in looking after a 16 year old boy with CP can do a better job than someone who went to school to learn how to look after children with CP. The most important thing needed by these children is love, care and acceptance. They need to be treated like normal not to be discriminated. I love working with these special kids and now I understand that God gave me a child with CP for a reason.
l live in Hillbrow with my husband. We were blessed with a handsome boy, Okuhle, who was born with hydrocephalus but sadly he passed away this year January at the age of 6 years. I miss him so much, he was the light of my life. I am also a caregiver at Bophelo Day Care Centre where there are children with Cerebral Palsy (CP).
l have learnt so many important things from children living with challenges like how to feed them, how to play with them, how to communicate with them, how to position them and above all l love their smiles so much. l love them so much.
