Lydia Ngwana (Chairperson)

I work at Malamulele Onward as a Trainer and Mentor to Parent Facilitators. My son was born in 1992 and he had Cerebral Palsy. Sadly he passed away in 2019 at the age of 22. I am one of the Founding Members of Bophelo Day Care Centre and am honoured to serve as the first Chairperson.

Mamowedi Nancy Kganane (Secretary)

I stay in Protea North with my son and Khutso, my grandson. I am a retired teacher. Khutso is my first grandchild and I love him so much. When we learnt that Khutso had Cerebral Palsy as a family we were just together and did everything for him just like any other child. To have Khutso in our family has taught us a lot of things about people with disabilities. We now know that disability is not inability. We are proud of Khutso because he is a warrior.

Vutomi Ringane (Treasurer)

I am a social scientist by profession and am currently working for Malamulele Onward, a non-profit organization in Johannesburg which focuses on children with cerebral palsy. I am originally from Malamulele, a small town in Limpopo Province. I am very passionate about my job as it is like giving back to those in need. I feel connected to children with disabilities and their mothers and I wanted to get myself more engaged by becoming a Board Member for the Bophelo Day Care Centre, an exciting and promising organization. I am driven and have great people and administrative management skills which I will gladly use to assist Bophelo to achieve its vision.

Every child is a beloved daughter or son or sister or brother and my work as a physiotherapist is to help to uncover the potential present in each child. It is a privilege to serve on the Board of Bophelo Day Care Centre alongside parents and colleagues who all share a deep love for children with severe disabilities.

Ruth Mashe

I am a wife and mom living in Riverlea, Johannesburg with my family. I was blessed with three beautiful children. Two boys and a girl. I work at Bophelo Day Care Centre as the Centre Coordinator . I love my work so much as it gives me a chance to help other mothers who have children living with Cerebral Palsy. My second born child, Tatenda was born with Cerebral Palsy and having to walk this journey with him has made me want to help other CP mothers and children living with CP through sharing my experiences and keeping their kids safe and healthy.

I love my job because it gives me a chance to do my part in this world to make sure special needs kids are well taken care of. Working with these children and parents has made me realize and appreciate the gift of life in its various packages. My job gives assurance to the children that they are equally important just as much as any other normal child out there. It gives awareness on how to properly take care of CP Kids to the parents and guardians and also that regardless of the child's condition they still need to be equally loved and taken care of just like other kids and not neglected.
